Protein is also responsible for preserving and building lean muscle, so your weight loss translates to reducing fat mass instead of losing muscle mass (Leidy et al., 2015).

Because you feel full after meals that include protein, you’re also less likely to experience cravings, making it easier to stick to the calorie target that helps you lose weight or makes you feel your best (Ohlsson et al., 2017).

Catalina Crunch cereal is the perfect start to your day. It is marketed a a keto-friendly cereal, but what that actually means is that this cereal is sugar-free, low in net carbs, and high in plant-based protein!

One serving is 1/2 cup (36g) and contains just 110 calories, 5 grams of fat, 5 grams of net carbs, 0 grams of sugar, 9 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of protein.

I’ve tried almost every flavor of Catalina Crunch cereal, which includes delicious options like:

Despite being sugar-free, these products contain no artificial sweeteners, so there’s absolutely no aftertaste.

Knowing the importance of protein for healthy eating and weight management, I pay a lot of attention also to the quality of the protein. Another reason I love Catalina Crunch cereal is that it is made from high-quality pea protein (a plant-based protein source).

The 9 grams of fiber in Catalina Crunch cereal also work wonders for keeping you full between meals and help with digestion. Notably, the fiber comes from acacia fiber, which has been related to better blood sugar control and lower cholesterol (Min et al., 2012)!

Most importantly… the flavors are spot-on and truly rival the childhood cereals we all know and love. My favorites have been cinnamon toast, dark chocolate, and fruity. The only one I have yet to try is the chocolate banana, but it will be in my next grocery order!

Typically, I’ll enjoy two servings ofCatalina Crunch cereal if I’m having it for breakfast (72 grams for 220 calories and 22 grams of protein), paired with unsweetened almond milk and some fresh blueberries. If I’m having it as a snack, then one serving is perfect, either withunsweetened almond milk or as a topping for high-protein yogurt (Siggi’s is my favorite brand!).

I dread those glucose spikes. But at first, slashing sugars was very hard. However, as time has gone by I learned sugar-free breakfasts don’t have to be boring. 

A friend was the first to mention how much she liked Catalina Crunch Cereal. And now I read your post.
